He explained: “We are excited to launch a new aircraft leasing company to serve the mid-life and end-of-life market. Our close relationships with later-life aircraft operators, and our understanding of their unique needs, will allow AerGen to provide airlines and lessors with full life-cycle solutions for their fleets.”

Genise added that AerGen’s aircraft leasing activities will be further supported by its recent acquisition of Avioserv, an established aircraft engine parts management company based in San Diego.

Avioserv specializes in the sale, lease and trading of engine parts, engine components and whole engines to airlines, repair facilities and parts distributors.

AerGen has raised an initial $200 million of committed equity capital from a group of financial and strategic investors led by Greenbriar Equity Group LLC.

“The investor group is proud to support Bob Genise and his world-class team in the launch of AerGen,” said Noah Roy, managing partner of Greenbriar. “The AerGen team has proven capabilities and a differentiated strategy to serve this important market segment.”

Lazard acted as sole financial adviser and Hughes Hubbard and Reed acted as lead legal counsel to AerGen.
