Job Description :

J2196 - Our client is seeking a Chief Risk Officer, Europe - UK, Thames Valley preferred, to assume responsibility for credit, asset management and collections functions as well as monitoring the lease portfolio across Europe. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Develop, implement and monitor risk strategies, operating policies, procedures and practices (for underwriting, commercial, asset management, portfolio monitoring) to ensure a well balanced portfolio.
Ensure the sustainable development of the business region and the achievement of expected growth and profitability targets together with Regional CEO and CFO.
Lead and guide the risk management organisation within assigned region.
Embed a risk-based culture within the organisation, creating a centre of excellence and best practise that educates and influences across the region. 
Actively manage the portfolio through underwriting, asset management, monitoring and syndication (e.g. manage risk levels and credit costs through pro-active modifications of the target markets, underwriting standards and policies based on MIS information and statistical analyses, approve new product launches, decide on transactions by exercising lending authority).
Implement and monitor measures for productivity and efficiency of the risk organisation (automation degree, approval and conversion ratios, turn around ratios, arrears development, credit cost level).

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

University or similar degree. 
Minimum 10 years' risk management experience in different roles with particular emphasis on small ticket flow business in a financial institution, thereof minimum 5 years in a leadership position.
Profound experience in projects and change management roles.
Senior management leadership experience.
Interaction with colleagues and partners in an international environment is crucial. 
Excellent English language skills required. 
Skills in other languages are a distinct advantage.
Preferred location: UK, Thames Valley / London & SE Eng.
