Our client is a growing asset finance company offering funding solutions to SME companies. They are looking for a collections officer to ensure the efficient and timely collection of asset finance arrears by maintaining a pro-active collections strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To closely monitor the asset finance portfolio and take prompt action when accounts go into arrears, including contact with the customers, and assessing the most appropriate course of action.
  • Pro-actively managing the asset finance portfolio to minimise arrears.
  • Telephone arrears customers within agreed timeframes and obtain comprehensive understanding of customer situation.
  • Assess each arrears account and make recommendations to management as to the most appropriate action.
  • Handle all arrears cases in line with the Asset Finance Collections Policy.
  • Where arrears accounts are re-scheduled and approved under delegated authorities, update operating system to reflect new payment structure.
  • Prepare arrears and portfolio reports for management as required.
  • Identify accounts to be considered for litigation, prepare litigation instructions and liaise with external service providers.
  • Ensure a consistently high quality of customer service.
  • Make certain the business operates within its agreed arrears tolerances.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements for arrears.

Key Skills:

  • Several years' experience of collections or arrears ideally within the asset finance industry.
  • Solid experience of collections or arrears preferably in the hard asset segment of the asset finance industry.
  • Experience of asset disposal through a variety of routes within the hard asset segment of the asset finance industry would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the asset finance market is essential.
  • A strong team player with the ability to exercise initiative and take ownership of projects.
  • A good level of skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
