Job Description :

J2385 - Our client is seeking an Underwriter: Head of Receivables and Block, responsible for the underwriting and audit capability due to the expansion of their Specialist Business Finance team across block and receivable and direct business. Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, London.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsibility for the end-to-end underwriting process across all sectors.
Represent the function at Credit Committees with the ability to influence lending decisions.
The breadth of the role also entails portfolio monitoring, assisting with high risk customers and preparing management information / reports for senior management.
Given the growth and development of the business, the role offers significant scope to operate across a range of projects.
This will include; updating scorecards, reviewing and drafting processes and policy and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
As a key liaison point for the department, this position will be focused across Specialist Business Finance in providing market intelligence and commentary which will influence Sales, Credit, Operations, Audit, Proposal Management and Collections in ensuring that the full risk profile of assets is fully articulated in the lending process and in manging the risk profile of the book.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Willingness, aptitude and gravitas to be a key member of a growing business.
Fundamental knowledge of accountancy and financial analysis of SME’s and corporates.
Lending experience of SME and corporate clients from a Credit perspective.
Deep knowledge of credit risk.
Understanding of regulatory governance and ensuring compliance with lending and credit policies (including management of large exposures / concentration risk).
Knowledge of working within Asset Finance preferable.
Experience of Block and Middle Ticket and / or mid-term lending (up to 5 years) preferable.
Experience of drafting and implementing policy advantageous.

We strongly favour applicants with proven relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.
