Job Description :

J2442 - Our client is seeking a Senior Credit Manager to deliver timely credit decisions within stated credit parameters. You will be responsible for leading and managing a credit team as well have your own underwriting authority. Salary: £70,000 - £75,000+, plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, S Eng (and partly home-based).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Preparation of credit papers for submission and presentation to the Credit Committee.
Lead and manage the credit team through coaching, mentoring and developing staff through the conduct of regular 1:1s with direct reports and performance reviews.
Ensure an effective QA process is in place with constructive feedback / action plans to resolve identified concerns.
Support the development and delivery of new business initiatives though identification, assessment and mitigation of credit risks.
Encourage an open culture with regular two-way communication.
Provide guidance to the credit team and the wider business on company credit policy and appetite.
Drive continuous improvement activity challenging processes and procedures to deliver optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Build effective relationships within group businesses and attend customer visits as and when required.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Ensure that team members complete online training as and when required and are kept updated with internal communications.
To support and assist the Head of Credit Management as and when required.
Deputise for the Head of Credit Management.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Degree educated or equivalent working experience in Asset Finance with an appropriate delegated authority.
Solid and proven experience in underwriting a diverse range of assets across a wide credit spectrum.
Solid and demonstrable experience in a wide range of assets and lending structures.
Commercial lending experience in unsecured lending transactions.
Experience of working in a direct and broker origination model.
Thorough understanding of finance products and appropriate security/legal/documentation risks.
Experience of underwriting SMEs and assessing ‘story credit’ new business opportunities.
Ability to make sound commercial credit decisions within the Bank’s credit appetite.
Proven experience in leading and managing teams to meet business objectives.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Advanced written and presentation skills.
Proven analytical skills.
Flexibility and adaptability in attitude to embrace change within a business growth environment.
