KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Processing customer agreements along the various stages of the ‘arrears journey’.
Communicating with customers by telephone and in writing.
Encouraging customers to pay their debts.
Managing Direct Debits.
Managing the repayment of interest.
Following the Specific provisions & Write-off processes.
Deal with third-party organisations such as Debt Management Companies, Insolvency Practitioners, and Solicitors.
Negotiate ‘payment arrangements’, agree Debt Management Plans, and review Insolvency Arrangements.
Refer customers to ‘debt-counselling’ charities and ‘debt management’ institutions.
Deal with Vulnerable Customers in accordance with Policy.
Managing payment receipts.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Prior experience in commercial banking and or asset finance is helpful.
A ‘can-do’ mentality with an innate focus on ‘the customer’, a right first-time approach and a desire to continually improve process.
The ability to complete tasks using all resources effectively, ensuring timely, high-quality and consistent results.
Excellent organisational and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to absorb and analyse data.
Understand the importance of team working and in building and developing relationships.
A flexible and pro-active approach to work and changing business priorities.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines, with a strong focus on achieving results.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to challenge existing work practices and to work with others to deliver best practice to an organisation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
