​​​​​​​​​​J2800 - Our client is seeking a Head of Broker to manage the Broker sales team for both transport / Industrial / construction assets and technology / medical assets to deliver transformational growth. You will implement a growth strategy that strikes the right balance between broker, vendor and dealer introductory sources, whilst earning a margin and ROE which reflects strong service excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In conjunction with senior management develop, agree, and implement the broker strategy.

  • Achieve Broker target objectives in volume, margin and income and other objectives as set by the directors as required.

  • Manage and lead the Broker team including all staff reviews, development plans and personnel requirements.

  • Participate in the budget process and assist in setting Broker target objectives in volume, margin and income and other operational objectives .

  • Fulfil role within the senior management team to work with other senior colleagues to achieve broader company objectives including participating in systems, processes and people development projects and other key management requirements.

  • Maintain senior contact with leading broker partners in both transport/Industrial/construction assets and technology/medical sectors through regular external meetings, calls and industry events.

  • Prepare and negotiate Broker Trading Agreements review non-standard transaction documentation. Liaise with external legal counsel and UK Sales Director where appropriate on documentation wording.

  • Ensure annual broker reviews are conducted by team members.

  • Develop strong effective interaction with Risk, New Business, Finance, and other support divisions to ensure smooth service, resolve issues and develop and enhance our service to brokers.

  • Strong knowledge of Credit Risk and ability to discuss credit appeals with Risk team. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • The individual should have 10+ years broker experience and be able to develop company's presence in the broker market via industry boards (FLA, NACFB) and marketing initiatives (industry publications external trade shows, social media etc.)

  • Understanding of the requirements to meet all FCA and compliance standards important to the role.

  • In depth risk, legal and asset knowledge of vendor finance together with the ability to market the company`s products and services.

  • Proven experience of working at CEO level.

  • Good presentation skills and team coaching capabilities.

  • Must have vision, drive and personal presence.

  • Ability to act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating customers fairly.

  • Drives a culture of sharing expertise and learning.

  • Creates a culture of accountability, innovation and growth.

  • Ensures priorities are aligned to the business plan and objectives.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.
