Our client a long established lease brokerage with a plethora of funders offering excellent rates are seeking a very largely office based Sales Manager Hard Assets to lead a business unit focussed on the financing of construction and agricultural assets typically dealer or manufacturer introduced but for deal sizes typically £150,000 - £200,000 and higher.

Our client finances both new and used assets and makes a margin over cost of funds of 6% of asset value for used assets & 2% for new. Typically 70% of business written today is on used assets and 30% new but due to recent new programme wins it is anticipated that gradually the mix will become more towards 50 / 50.

Your role is to personally deliver volumes and lead the business unit of administration and sales staff to its next level of success.

You will inherit and develop existing relationships but will personally take the lead on new business generation. It is expected the role will be 70% new business and 30% account management & relationship development.

Your income will be geared to your own performance but a commission over rider will be paid on achievement of the overall objectives of the business unit.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking applications from genuine new business hunting sales leaders who recognise that profits are made not from selling cheap money but by being willing and able to get customers to pay rates that generate sufficient profit to earn you £150,000 a year in year two.

You should have experience and success in the financing hard assets (construction and agricultural), be successful with winning business from both new and existing dealers and manufacturers and be skilled at rapidly structuring and deal closing with end user customers over the phone.

As this role is a selling sales manager you will also need the skills to be able to motivate and lead a small office based administration and sales team, the role therefore although not 100% office based will require you to work from our clients Essex offices typically for at least 4 days a week.

In particular the way of working with dealers and their customers is this role is typically one of finding urgent used and new asset deals from dealers and then closing deals over the phone rapidly concluding documentation by email with the customer rather than face to face visits to close deals.

What we are seeking most are applications from those who have a genuine desire to earn a very high income, if you are someone who can live your life on your base salary alone or someone whose success is derived from closing deals but at 3% nominal that makes little real profit then this position is not for you.

Base salary range to c£60,000, plus car allowance plus quarterly paid uncapped commission at 20% of gross profit, plus an over riders on team success, realistic year 1 income £120,000 year 2 £150,000 +.
