Our client the UK’s leading provider of finance for the legal profession who lend over £100m a year are seeking a selling team leader to lead a team of 4 sales staff selling a wide range of unsecured finance products into the legal sector.
Our client offers short term funding for practice loans, VAT , personal tax , practicing certificates and professional indemnity insurance , they deal with 500 practices nationally today and believe this represents , despite their success , just 25% of their target marketplace.
Whilst they do deal tactically via brokers and vendors the vast majority of their business today is direct to the customer driven and as such your role will be focussed on this direct route to the customer
Your role will be to lead the team to greater success growing volumes from effective selling of their full range of products to each existing customer and with a strategic focus on targeting , prospecting and winning new credit worthy customers.
You will inherit a portfolio of customer to personally manage and can expect to take the lead on building strategic engagement with our clients major customers but 75% of your focus and 75% of your variable income will be derived from achieving your teams overall target.
You will be very well rewarded for your success with commission being monthly paid and paid on every deal you or your team closes with earnings being wholly uncapped.
This is an office based role other than on the occasions that you need to meet a major customer not least as your team are office with business being most cost effectively closed via the telephone. As a consequence you need to be able to base yourself on a daily basis from our clients offices in Poole , a relocation package is anticipated to available to attract the highest calibre of choice.
We are seeking applications from those who have some experience of leading an office based sales team or at least matrix management or hands on experience of mentoring of office based sales staff.
Experience of the finance sector is much preferred but experience of financing the legal profession though nice to have is not required, by way of comparison your team prior to joining our client have backgrounds in selling mortgages, selling retail finance and telesales.
What you must be is very focussed, be very aware of the transactional nature of our clients business, be very execution centric and of course be very numbers driven both in terms of activity levels and achievement of volumes and profit.
You must also have the skills to push higher up the chain of command within existing and also new customers to Managing Partner, Finance Director, Chief Cashier level to maximise the opportunity to sell our clients full range of products.
Finally we are seeking applications from those who have the skills and desire within 18 months to take on a larger and more strategic role as our clients business develops , we will be happy to expand upon this point with suitably qualified applicants.
