Our client a leading professions financier for whom we have recruited back as far as 2001 and placed the Sales Director to whom this role reports are hiring a new position of Area Sales Manager to focus on writing finance business with the following sectors.

  • Care Homes
  • Funeral Directors
  • Pharmacists
  • Architects

Our client already has a national sales team but the bulk of that teams focus is in dentistry, veterinary, opticians, the role covering from Manchester north is being hired to augment a similar successful hire in the South.

The role will be 100% new business but our client are part of major financial group with significant resources to deploy in terms of both marketing and lead generation.

However, this is a role for a genuine new business hunter who is happy to make 20 cold calls a day every day to generate leads and then has the willingness when you see a customer to actually canvass on foot possible prospects near by.

If this sounds old fashioned its not at all, it works, you will be surprised by how a brief conversation with a receptionist at a major care home may elicit that they are considering major expansion and suddenly you have a £200,000 opportunity to progress.

2/3 of our clients business are loans and they will finance everything from building works at a care home to beds, to auto stocking machines at pharmacies to Tax , VAT and PI cover for their customers.

You can expect a realistic first year target of c£4m reflecting the new business nature of the role.Our clients average deal value across the whole of their business is £35,000, however care home deals can easily be £300,000 or more.

You will tasked to achieve a profit based on the full life value of the deal taking into account selling IRR, term etc. To put things in perspective typically our client are lending long term at rates of anything from 6% to 12% + but at thinner margins for short term tax and VAT lending.

You will be paid commission monthly on every deal you close. Commission is wholly uncapped. Once you have achieved annual targets volume bonuses are incepted.

The leading earners at our client who not only over achieve their numbers but provide superb customer service are significantly out earning the on target earnings. This could be you in 2 years time.

Candidate Profile

Our preferred applicant will have professions finance sales experience but we are quite happy to receive applications from strong asset finance generalists.

Unusually our client are also willing to consider applications from those who have been selling other services into the 4 markets this role focusses on. Even if you have NO finance sector experience if you have a new business record of selling into any of these 4 markets and you are bright , numerate and can be trained in finance talk to us. In this instance the commencing salary might be a little lower than the £50,000 top of but the commission plan would be exactly the same.

Whatever you background you must be a genuine new business hunter who gets up every date keen to get on the phones and make those calls to build your customer base , of course as time progresses you will retain and manage the customers you win and therefore the role will become in time a blend of new business V account management.

Finally, in terms of location as long as you live no further south than Manchester they are relaxed about your location, after all you have the whole of the UK from Manchester north to do just £4m in year one from so there is no shortage of geography to provide opportunity.
