Objective of the role is to support the financial controller in managing company accounting practices through exemplary financial management, liaison with finance colleagues and key stakeholders and through regular reports.
To play an important commercial role in driving growth and profitability by supporting the business and its clients to build sales propositions and structure deals.
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of cashflows forecast.
- Support in the preparation of corporation tax returns.
- Prepare monthly management accounts with commentary.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns.
- Post and reconcile accruals and prepayments.
- Manage fixed asset register.
- Perform Intercompany reconciliations.
- Produce reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Point of contact for audit queries.
Other / Ad hoc duties
- Provide cover for Accounts receivable and payable function during period of leave/absence.
Candidate Profile
Our client are seeking the following essential skills & experience :
- Part qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with an intent to becoming fully qualified.
- Proactive with high level of initiative and proven technical experience.
- Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work.
- Strong time management skills with ability to balance work and study.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to confidently communicate and develop productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Adaptable and flexible approach.
Desirable additional experience:
- Prior knowledge and experience of the leasing and finance sector.
- Experience of Microsoft dynamics Navision or SAP.
- Experience of Barclays and Natwest banking platforms.
