Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) has chosen Emily Barron, former head of finance at Branch International, and Brian Foley, former managing director at Macquarie Group, to co-lead its warehouse credit solutions across the US.

The company has also made appointments in the UK, with Folake Shasanya, former head of acquisition financing at RBS, now leading its warehouse credit solutions in the UK and EMEA.

Shasanya (pictured) joined SVB last year to lead its warehouse financing operations in the fintech sector, as director of the bank’s UK branch. At RBS she was responsible for providing strategic advisory services to buyers, start-up companies, and private equity firms, leading over $12 billion in senior financing. Shasanya was also director of the credit division at SIFMA, a trade association for brokers and dealers, investment banks and asset managers in the US, and was a senior structurer in the asset backed financing group at Credit Suisse.

Barron has an extensive career in the finance industry, working in a range of senior positions for companies including Barclays Capital where she was vice-president of FX sales before becoming head of finance at Branch International.

Foley has held a range of senior positions, including managing director at the Macquarie Group from 2012-2019, a global financial group that provides asset management, banking, advisory and risk and capital solutions.

Nick Christian, head of specialty finance at SVB, said: “SVB continues to evolve its suite of lending products to support the unique needs of innovative companies as they scale, and with these new appointments leading our warehouse lending solutions, the offering is set to provide a flexible credit solution to our innovative clients and facilitates their growth.”

SVB’s specialty finance group provides revolving lines of credit and term loans to companies and funds active in consumer and enterprise sectors. The specialty finance team provides credit solutions ranging from $10 million to $100 million.
