Senior executives from the world’s largest captive auto finance companies have gathered to discuss the transforming landscape of the auto finance industry at the Auto Captives Summit, hosted by global finance software supplier White Clarke Group.
The Auto Captives Summit 2018 provided delegates with real-world examples for success in the transforming digital world of automotive finance.
David Slider, group executive vice-president at White Clarke Group, opened the day by encouraging delegates to “Think Bigger” as the industry adapts to the changing business landscape.
Speakers at the conference included Royce Curtin, managing director of global intelligence at Barclays Bank, who provided an insight into how Barclays manages the global threat from cyber-attacks.
Before he joined Barclays, Curtin was deputy assistant director of National Intelligence in the US, and prior to that a special agent with the FBI.
Toby Woolf, big data automotive leader at IBM, provided real-life examples of how big data technology is delivering actionable insights to captive auto finance companies, while Andy Hinrichs, CEO and founder of AutoGravity, showed how its auto finance mobile app is disrupting the US auto finance market.
Irfon Watkins, CEO at DOVU, explained how their new blockchain platform monetizes the flow of connected car data between the driver and mobility companies, while David Betteley, director at Marknad, briefed delegates about the impact of digitalisation on the auto finance industry and how it is affecting customer expectations.
Toby Kernon, CEO at Wagonex, shared his new fintech start-up strategy as one of the first in a growing number of simple, subscription-based car-as-a-service offerings, which have the potential to replace contract hire and PCP by bundling all of the costs of car usage into one monthly payment.
