Digital specialist Automotive Software Solutions has acquired a majority share in Clear Vehicle Data.
Clear Vehicle Data provides information services for systems, websites and apps in the automotive industry, including fleets, leasing and rental companies, dealer groups and media firms.
Its services include data on new vehicles and on all registered vehicles, along with information on maintenance costs, residual values and wholelife costs.
The acquisition brings additional expertise and insight to Automotive Software Solutions’ range of services to support future business expansion.
Sarah Easton, director of Automotive Software Solutions, said: “We are very excited to be working with the CVD team as, increasingly, data becomes a key enabler towards improving user experience, allowing customers to process, research, purchase and manage the upkeep of their vehicles in-life.
“We are working on further new and exciting products which will be delivered later this year and will be complementary to each other.”
Automotive Software Solutions products include OviDrive, a mobility services operating system that uses real-time data and machine learning to aid fleet management.
It also offers a service called Vehicle-DNA, which provides information on a vehicle’s background and performance.
Its Eye-D-Me platform provides an identity verification app for use during vehicle and key handovers.
Easton founded ASS in 2018 with fellow director Tim Hudson.
